The Child of the Skull Crown
The Child of the Skull Crown
Description
A young figure is surrounded by pale blue skulls that resemble a crown, a cloud, and a silent gathering of the dead around a living face. Bright blue eyes and orange skin intensify the presence of life within symbols of mortality, while the two-toned suit gives the portrait a ceremonial quality. This work explores the distance between youth and death—being young does not mean being far from the end, only having more time to travel beside those who came before.
