An elderly face is divided into block-like fractures, while cherry branches grow from both sides of the head, as if memory were blooming again upon a broken mask. Purple shadows and golden-orange skin tones give the portrait a sculptural weight, a sense of time, and an unspoken fatigue. This work speaks of dignity after aging: even when the face is dismantled by years, spring can still grow through the cracks.
